Associate Professor at the University of Bologna and Chief of the Neuro-ophthalmology Clinic at Bellaria Hospital (IRCCS ISNB) since 2015. Affiliated with the Program of Neurogenetics. Research focuses on hereditary optic neuropathies with emphasis on gene therapy, mitochondrial disorders, and the intersection of ocular function and circadian cycles. Collaborates with Doheny Eye Institute at UCLA on circadian photoreception.
