Dr. Bin Li’s research group at Huazhong University pioneered AAV2-based gene therapy for LHON ND4 mutations. Their three registered ClinicalTrials.gov trials (NCT01267422, NCT03153293, NCT03428178) represent the largest body of clinical evidence for this approach in the Asia-Pacific region.
